Series 35 Ultrasonic Thickness Gages
These
versatile handheld models make accurate and repeatable thickness
measurements on parts where access to the opposite surface is difficult or
impossible. They can also calculate and display Material Sound Velocity or
Time-of-Flight to determine material characteristics. Measurements are
instantly displayed as large numerals on the backlit display.
An optional Live Waveform Mode on all models
allows the operator to view ultrasound waveform (or A-scan) real-time
while making measurements on parts with complex geometries. In addition,
an Adjust Mode allows the operator to make transducer setup adjustments to
maximize measurement performance in challenging applications. A Freeze
Mode instantly freezes the display to capture critical thickness
measurements.
An
important benefit of these gages is their versatility to make accurate
thickness measurements on metals, plastics, glass, rubber, castings,
fiberglass, and composites in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and
geometries. The Models 35 and 35DL can measure steel as thin as 0.006”
(0.15mm) and as thick as 25” (500mm). Plastic can be measured down to
0.003” (0.08mm). The Models 35HP and 35DLHP are uniquely designed for
materials such as fiberglass, composites, rubber, and castings that are
difficult or impossible to measure using standard ultrasonic gages. They
measure from 0.050” to 20” (1.25 to 500mm).
A unique feature, Application Auto-Recall,
allows the operator to select and recall any of the stored standard or
custom transducer setups in the gage’s memory. This permits easy switching
among a variety of contact, delay line, and immersion transducers to solve
an almost infinite number of measurement problems. In addition, a host of
other features such as Alarm Mode and Differential Mode evolve these gages
ideal for many difficult applications.
The 35DL and 35DL-HP feature a file based
alphanumeric internal data logger that allows the operator to store,
recall, and transmit thickness measurements with Identification Codes.
